EMPATHY

EMPATHY: Through Our Eyes 2019, projections and reflections at the Ontario Science Centre with a residency at the Museum of Modern Art in Toronto. Photographs can freeze reality, connect us and transport us in time and space. In light of our present global environmental situation and the resistance to believe in or act on climate change, I am inspired to investigate how an image can evoke empathy and connect us worldwide in a shared experience. Projected images face two large mirrors on the back side of the information panel so visitors can see themselves within the images. The exhibit encourages visitors to place themself into the images and imagine what it’s like to live there. How does it make you feel?
